Job Posting: Community Economic Development Officer



SCOR EDC is looking for a responsible and enthusiastic employee to be part of a dynamic economic development team. 


SCOR EDC is a not-for-profit economic development corporation owned by the counties of Brant, Elgin, Middlesex, Norfolk and Oxford.    


The Community Economic Development Officer will assist with day to day partnership building, and connecting with partners, stakeholders and businesses across the region.  This position will also be focusing on creating strong connections and support to partners and the small rural communities and small businesses within the region.  Duties will vary from day to day so the ability to multitask and meet deadlines on multiple projects is important.  


Role

The Community Economic Development Officer will be responsible for:

  • Preparation of draft reports, compiling records, preparing spreadsheets 

  • Taking of minutes for various committees and group meetings

  • Assisting with an online presence for the corporation and its partners

  • Various project supports that the corporation is undertaking


Experience & Skills Required

The successful applicant will have a demonstrated ability to:

  • Act as a participating team member with an entrepreneurial spirit

  • Ability to work independently or as a part of a team 

  • Pay attention to detail and demonstrate thoroughness in their work 

  • Ability to manage and prioritize as project demands shift 

  • A clear, concise writing style that conveys facts and interpretation in an easy to understand way

  • A strong range of interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively 

  • Possess a valid Ontario drivers license with access to their own vehicle 

  • Have a willingness to travel within Southern Ontario 

  • Possess a valid Ontario drivers license with access to their own vehicle 

  • Strong knowledge of rural communities within the five-county region
