Celebrating Women Leaders in Economic Development

SCOR EDC

On this International Women’s Day, SCOR EDC proudly recognizes the outstanding contributions of the women who serve on our Board of Directors. Their leadership, dedication, and vision play a crucial role in driving economic development and fostering growth in our communities. At SCOR EDC, we are committed to supporting inclusive economic opportunities and ensuring that women have a strong voice in shaping the future of our region. We celebrate the achievements of these remarkable women and thank them for their service.

Among these inspiring leaders is Jennifer Kyle, who serves as Vice Chair of SCOR EDC and is a dedicated Councillor for the County of Brant. Her commitment to economic growth and community development is evident in her work, as she continuously strives to enhance opportunities for businesses and residents alike.

Representing Middlesex County, Cathy Burghardt-Jesson and Sharron McMillan serve as Directors on the SCOR EDC Board. Their leadership and experience bring valuable perspectives to the table, ensuring that the region remains focused on strategic economic development initiatives. Their work in local governance directly impacts the economic vitality of Middlesex County and the broader SCOR region.

Amy Martin, who previously held the role of Chair and now serves as Past Chair, has been instrumental in shaping SCOR EDC’s direction. As a Norfolk County Councillor, she has championed initiatives that foster sustainable growth and economic resilience. Her guidance and dedication continue to leave a lasting impact on the organization and the communities it serves.

Oxford County is also well represented on our Board, with Deb Gilvesy serving as Treasurer and Bernia Martin as a Director. Both women bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to their roles, advocating for economic policies that support local businesses and drive regional growth. Their leadership ensures that Oxford County remains a key player in economic development efforts within the SCOR region.

As we celebrate International Women’s Day, we acknowledge the invaluable impact these women have on SCOR EDC and their respective counties. Their leadership helps shape economic policies, build strong business communities, and create opportunities for growth and development. Let’s take a moment to honor their efforts and continue to support and empower women in leadership. Happy International Women’s Day!
